Tyre and Wheel Check – Service Checklist
- Check tyre pressures and adjust to manufacturer specifications
- Inspect all tyres for uneven or excessive tread wear
- Check tread depth on all tyres
- Inspect tyres for cuts, cracks, bulges, punctures or other damage
- Check for signs of abnormal wear that may indicate suspension or alignment problems
- Inspect tyre sidewalls for damage
- Check tyre age and condition
- Inspect spare tyre and check its pressure and condition
- Check wheel nuts for correct torque
- Inspect wheels for cracks, bends or other damage
- Check wheel rims for corrosion or damage
- Inspect wheel studs and nuts
- Check for excessive wheel movement or bearing play
- Check wheel alignment if uneven tyre wear is present
- Inspect steering and suspension components for wear that could affect tyre performance
- Check tyre valves and valve caps
- Check TPMS sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system, where fitted
- Rotate tyres if required according to the manufacturer's recommendations
- Balance wheels if vibration or uneven wear is detected
- Road test vehicle where appropriate to check for steering or wheel vibration
- Report any tyres or wheels requiring replacement or further attention
A thorough tyre and wheel inspection during a service can identify safety issues early and help extend tyre life, improve handling and maintain proper vehicle performance.
