Fuel Injection Service and Cleaning Checklist
- Inspect fuel injectors for leaks or damage
- Check injector operation and spray pattern
- Test fuel pressure
- Inspect fuel lines and fuel rail
- Check fuel filter condition
- Clean fuel injectors using professional equipment
- Remove carbon and fuel deposits from injectors
- Clean injector tips and nozzles
- Check injector flow rates
- Test injector electrical resistance
- Inspect injector wiring and electrical connections
- Check fuel pump operation
- Inspect throttle body for carbon buildup
- Clean throttle body if required
- Check air intake system for leaks
- Inspect and replace air filter if necessary
- Check engine idle quality
- Check for hesitation, misfiring or poor acceleration
- Scan the vehicle for fuel-system fault codes
- Check oxygen sensor and fuel-trim readings
- Clear relevant fault codes after repairs
- Road-test vehicle after servicing
